Lauren Powers

As a kid, I got to play dress-up with real clothes. Living in Asia, our local sewist turned fabric into magic outfits.  The colors, the textures, the bell-bottoms! Wearing them was such fun. In a way, they gave me a voice & a sense of myself.

However, in the mid-1970s, my family moved to Texas. Bold flair wasn't quite as welcome there. So I pulled on some jeans. I wore a belt with my name tooled on the back. I learned that clothing could protect, or reveal, who we are.

Later, my career as an executive coach taught me something vital. People need permission to live out loud. To show up fully. To experience life as play.

The Ruckus Studio is where those two threads of my life meet: the early delight of expressive clothes and my work of helping people step into their true selves.

The garments I make are meant to inspire ease, playful vibes, and engagement.  Each piece is a wearable spark of energy. A little extra oomph to support you & your twirl-worthy life.
